Since its inception in 2005, the French Library’s Accent on Success program has provided free French language instruction to over 1,700 students in public schools in Greater Boston.

Thanks to generous donors, this community outreach program allows high school students from Boston public schools to attend classes at the French Library. Through engaging educational activities, participating students have the opportunity to learn French with specially trained instructors, explore several facets of Francophone cultures as well as develop key communication and literacy skills for success in a global society. Students enrolled in the program also have the opportunity to join the Center’s Summer in French program for teens as well as an immersion trip to France or Québec after two years of classes.

Individual gifts from generous donors, in addition to proceeds raised during our annual Tour de France Viticole Wine Dinner, provide the critical funds needed to sustain Accent on Success. As a result, we are delighted to be able to cover all costs associated with the program, including faculty compensation as well as textbooks, classroom supplies and field trip costs in order to offer this program to all students free of charge. The French Library is deeply committed to fulfilling Accent on Success's mission, and is thrilled to see the proof of its success in the enthusiasm of our students and their parents across the Greater Boston area.
