Executive Director


The French Cultural Center is looking for a Director of Marketing who will bring visibility to the Center and expand awareness of its classes, cultural events, library and membership offerings, while overseeing all marketing communications.


  • Devises marketing strategies in collaboration with the Executive Director and department heads.
  • Reviews and edits all website content, mass communications (targeted e-blasts, e-newsletter, invitations) and social media posts on a regular basis to ensure branding and style guidelines are followed and copy is error-free.
  • Manages voice, tone and attitude of Center’s online presence, including on the website and on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Supervises Marketing Associate and Graphic Designer, establishes correct priorities within the marketing department.
  • Serves as chief liaison for press contacts for pre-event outreach and post-event coverage opportunities, including ensuring press releases sent in timely fashion and to appropriate contacts.
  • Prepares status reports and presents marketing recaps at quarterly board meetings.
  • Manages general marketing budget and marketing budgets for individual departments.
  • Researches best practices and new opportunities for the most effective marketing and advertising strategies.


  • Native fluency in English required.
  • Proficiency in French strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required.
  • Digital marketing experience preferred, with experience promoting a business or organization on social media.
  • Strong designer "eye" and ability to speak in designer's terms preferred.
  • Experience managing a team required.
  • Superior attention to detail and copyediting experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to write clearly, concisely and with conviction.
  • Ability to understand and project company’s tone and brand to various publics.
  • Strong designer "eye" and ability to speak in designer's terms preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to anticipate short-term and long-term needs.
  • Ability to strategize for big-picture planning.
  • Flexible and responsive. Ability to set priorities a must.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Design Suite preferred.
  • Experience with WordPress and HTML preferred.
  • Strong grasp of Google Analytics a plus.
  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.
