About this Class

Our core language classes will reinforce your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Our teachers and curriculum use cutting-edge methods and resources to augment your skills and boost your confidence in French. With a focus on conversational French and active student participation using videos and interactive exercises, you will master the finer aspects of the French language.

Required: B1-4 or equivalent. Prepare for CECR B2
Required textbook: Cosmopolite 4
In this course you will cover units 1 and 2; pp. 12 to 47. Please note that a CD player is needed to play the included disc.

Learn How To
Talk about fashion and trends, analyze the link between clothes and one’s appearance, talk about the food fads, look at different travel trends.

Grammar
The past participle as an adjective, the anterior future tense, opposition and concession, time conjunctions.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Talk about appearance and personal style, discuss different diets and ways of eating, chat about vacation destinations.

Phonetics
The expressive nature of a statement: Le vintage est une toute nouvelle tendance qui plait vraiment beaucoup aux jeunes !

Learn How To
Manipulate different past tenses, describe a profession, talk about societal changes and movements, evoke a memory of your past or your childhood, look at different ways of telling or presenting a story.

The major past tenses, the past hypothetical, the “passé simple” in context, spatial prepositions.

Look at different jobs, talk about war, express feelings.
