An essential component of primary education in France, Dictée (dictation) is an excellent exercise to improve vocabulary, spelling, and memory for native French speakers and learners alike. In the Center’s take on classic Dictées, you will work with a variety of interesting and entertaining texts ranging from science to culture, history and society that will challenge you and build your confidence as a French speaker and writer.
Communicative and linguistic objectives:
Recognize implicit meaning, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
Understand language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
Comprehend and Produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

Reconstruct arguments and accounts in coherent and complex sentences.

About Joséphine Wolfe

Joséphine is half French, half English and has lived in Sweden, France, England, Luxembourg, Scotland and the USA. She has a degree in literature from the University of St Andrews (Scotland) and has taught all ages both in Luxembourg and the UK. Joséphine takes joy in sharing her knowledge of French language and culture in a fun and engaging way and always takes care to tailor her lessons to students’ interests, learning styles and objectives. An avid foodie and fine artlover, she also enjoys literature and dancing. In her spare time, Joséphine paints abstract pictures, devours novels and spends quality time with family and friends.
