Learn How To- Say hello, introduce yourself, respond yes or no, learn how to spell in French, express numbers through 30, say the date, communicate in French class
- The expressions je m’appelle, je suis, and j’ai __ ans, subject pronouns and some stress pronouns.
- Recognize French words out of context, greet someone in French, differentiate between tu and vous, talk about events and the seasons.
- Salutations, the alphabet, nationalities, a few countries, colors, numbers up to 30, the months of the year, expressions for the classroom
- The alphabet, A [a]; B [be]; C [se]
- Sentence prosody: accent, tone, rhythm, syllables, and intonation

Learn How To- Introduce yourself and others, talk about yourself; ask for information on others.
- Prepositions of place (à, en, au, aux), the verbs être, avoir and s’appeler, the basic negative (ne…pas); definite articles (le, la, les), some nationalities
- Talk about French artists, learn about the Swiss and Belgian number systems, discover a few francophone celebrities, l’OIF.
- People, pastimes, identity, countries and nationalities, numbers up to 100.
- Pronouncing a basic sentence: Je m’appelle Arthur; je suis français; word stress: Pierre est allemand, Jeanne est anglaise.

Learn How To- Ask for and give directions, understand an itinerary, get around via the metro or the bus.
- Definite and indefinite articles, ER verbs as well as the verbs aller, prendre and descendre, the question word quel, gender and agreement for nouns and adjectives.
- Discover Paris and Montreal
- Describe city living, public transportation, different professions, and numbers through 1 billion.
- Rising and falling intonation: Vous venez avec nous? / Elle est à la maison.
- Pronouncing ER verbs in the present: Je travaille / Ils travaillent

"Qu’est-ce qu’on mange ?"
Learn How To- Introduce yourself and others, talk about yourself; ask for information on others.
- Understand and discuss your schedule, go grocery shopping, order in a restaurant or café, talk about your likes and dislikes (the verb aimer, adorer, détester)
- Learn about culinary specialties of Quebec and compare them with those in France.
- Shopping, the grocery store, food (dishes and beverages), quantities, methods of payment, how to order and read a menu
- Pronunciation of final consonant in a word: serveur, beaucoup, dessert; the silent e: le marché ferme à une heure.
