About this Class

France's institutions are well established today, but this hasn't always been the case. From 1791 to 1815, during the aftermath of the Revolution, France struggled to sustain a government and to lay the groundwork for a society based around the now familiar French principles of liberty, equality and fraternity. Come investigate this consequential period in French history and the events that transformed the French state and furthered the role of free speech and ideas in public life.
