About this Class

Our core language classes will strengthen your French through speaking, writing and comprehension activities while providing insights into Francophone culture. Our teachers and curriculum use cutting-edge methods and resources to expand your skills and increase your confidence in French. With full immersion from day one and a communicative, task-based approach you'll gain a deeper understanding of the French language and Francophone world!

Required: B1-1 or equivalent. Prepare for CECR B1
Required textbook: Cosmopolite 3
In this course you will cover units 3 and 4; pp. 48 to 83. Please note that a CD player is needed to play the included disc.

Learn How To
Talk about and suggest outings or events, give advice, talk about family activities, go out as a group, analyze different customs and traditions, describe different behaviors.

Grammar
Expressions to give advice, expressions to highlight a particular piece of information (mettre en relief), expressing purpose to convince someone of something, the pronouns y and en, using negation to indicate a restriction, l’opposition et la concession, using demonstrative and indefinite pronouns to describe different behaviors.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Talk about group activities, comment on statistics, express agreement and disagreement, talk about your family, describe a wedding ceremony.

Pronunciation
Asking questions: Un cours de musculation ensemble, ça te dit ? Varied vocal cadence : Mes amis ont vraiment le sens de la fête !

Learn How To
Talk about an experience, support a cause, express uncertainty, propose solutions to a problem, debate, encourage people to act for a cause, talk about green gestures, persuade someone to do something.

Grammar
Using indefinite objects to talk about quantity, the present participle, adverb use, choosing between the infinitive or the subjunctive in a sentence.

Society, Culture, and Vocabulary
Describe a neighborhood and its residents, debate controversial subject, talk about food waste, learn about credit and savings, learn some French slang, talk about graphic novels and comic strips.

Pronunciation
Using intonation as a method of persuasion: Arrête d’acheter des bouteilles en plastique !
