About this Talk
Co-founder of the Festival des Architectures Vives (Festival of Living Architecture), Elodie Nourrigat shares her experiences and insights with disseminating architectural culture and offering visibility to young architects.
An annual event since 2006, the festival invites creators from all over the world to imagine and build urban and often ephemeral projects in the courtyards of private mansions and in public spaces throughout the cities of Montpellier and La Grande Motte in the South of France.
For ten days, the community has the opportunity to discover or rediscover the historical landmarks of these old towns and to engage with various contemporary installations, connected by special walking paths. Created by several teams of architects, the installations highlight the work of a younger generation that is inventing and exploring new design practices.
The talk will be moderated by Silvia Claudia Benedito, Assistant Professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Design.
About Elodie Nourrigat

With fellow architects Jacques Brion and Romain Jamot, she co-founded NBJ Architectes in Montpellier in 2013. The partners won many awards for their work. In September 2008, Nourrigat and Brion were invited to exhibit at the 11th Architecture Biennale in Venice as part of the French Pavilion.
Elodie Nourrigat has researched and taught at prestigious universities around the globe, and received accolades from the European Centre for Architecture, the French Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Ministry of Women’s Rights and the Ordre National des Architectes.
Along with Jacques Brion, Nourrigat is committed to the dissemination of architectural culture and driven by her desire to offer visibility to young architects. For that, she co-created in 2006 the Festival des Architectures Vives, which invites annually young architects to intervene in the courtyards of private mansions and public spaces in the cites of Montpellier and La Grande Motte in the South of France.
